Conversion of Your mental

"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." Matthew 9:16

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he" Proverbs 23:7

Conversion is the performance of faith. Conversion is a journey not a destination, a line not a point, a strategy not a tactic, a process not a product. Conversion takes courage, commitment, and steadfast faith.

Conversion is a decision and a continual process of decisions. It is more than maintenance; it is destruction of the old and construction of the new. Every miniature of every day we are faced with decisions that are a reflection of what we believe. This is the 'work' of Christianity.

"The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

John 6:29

"You must unlearn what you have learned."

Yoda

"The necessary problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of mental with which we created them."

Albert Einstein

Taking operate of our thoughts

Every performance (or inaction) is the consequent of such a decision. That decision may or may not be consciously made but we made a decision all the same. This is the conversion of which I speak; that every thought is brought into subjection to the will of God. We must learn to be known of our thoughts. We must learn to base our decisions on thought not on animal instinct.

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4

Conversion is the change, the metamorphosis, believers endure as they alter their mind from competitiveness to creativeness. Conversion isn't a passive reaction to 'accepting' Jesus. Upon accepting Jesus, we have been born again but we are mere babies. When first we reach the point of accepting the 'way' that is provided by God straight through Jesus we're still carnal; we remain primarily in a state animal consciousness. When we first believe, when we first rule to consequent the level and narrow path, our traditional concern is still Survive! As an animal our fear is based on corporeal prosperity and condition only. The only instinct of the human primate animal is survival.

"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step."
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

What do you want?

All human primate behavior is based on the same animal behavior that governs a dog or cat, survive! Fight or flight! Compete! Do great than the next animal in the herd. But we who have been quickened - made alive by Christ - and are no longer governed by the animal instinct of survival; it is no longer our nature to be cowering in the shadows in fear but now our nature is to use our power as children of God to create.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to come to be the sons of God

John 1:12

"Very truly I tell you; whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."
John 5:24

Remember back in the starting of this book we asked: 'What do you want?' Think about it again now, 'What is the desire in your heart?' Truly, is it to be rich or is it to be complete? Are you missing fame and fortune or are you seeking fulfillment? What do you want?

To as many as believe

If you truly believe only once whether that is in the church, on the couch, or in private prayer, that spark of true belief is the starting of the 'born again' process. That spark ignites the flame of conversion. The conversion process takes us past the gate and up the level and narrow path that so few find.

Our minds are bombarded by thoughts always, but those we pick to entertain ... Those we pick to cultivate ... Is what conversion addresses. The input from our eyes is no longer the truth. The evidence of the carnal life is no longer the facts. Our corporeal body and its myriad data aren't the reality of our life for we're dead to this life and alive to the life that is in Christ.

Jesus taught us in parables. One of these is recorded by Matthew in episode 13 of his recorded gospel. We call this "The Parable of the Sower." In explaining this Jesus said (beginning in verse 18): "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When habitancy hear the message about the kingdom and do not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their hearts. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to habitancy who hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When issue or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to habitancy who hear the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to habitancy who hear the word and understand it. They furnish a crop, compliancy a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

Here for the first time Jesus explains to us that it is his word that brings changes of exponential spiritual growth and power to us. It's his word that we must truly cultivate in our souls and we must safe it with our will. Conversion is bringing your will into conformance with God's will.

"Not my will, but yours be done." Jesus.

Therefore, those who exertion to consequent the law of God by their outward behavior are incorrect in their assumption that they can. They are succumbing to the temptation of self accomplishment. Jesus taught us God's laws are not designed to operate our behavior; the law we consequent controls us at the spirit level and gives us more possible freedom. We wish we could live entirely by the law we hold as self evident, the law that says "love God with all that you are" but we are unable to do this because we have to fight with the human primate mentality that says the only reality is survival. However, because we have faith, we continue try and in trying (as in exercising) we find ourselves great able to operate the daily level of belief. Daily, we begin to convert our thoughts to thoughts that believe God. We begin to convert our thoughts to thoughts that are spiritually focused. Our life and our dealings with others are great daily as a result. These laws are given straight through Jesus. If we live by these laws no other laws are necessary.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an devotee in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the many commandment in the Law?"

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and many commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Matthew 6:34

The law of love

There are laws we scrutinize that are as compelling on our human primate animal as the laws of God are on our souls. For instance in nature you find the law of gravity. We didn't write these laws but we have observed them and defined their parameters. By observing them we have learned how to employ them to perform specific objectives. As an example we learned that air has mass, if channeled properly can be used to lift an object off the ground. Therefore, in a complete minded advent we might think we had circumvented the law of gravity. We have not. We learned that with sufficient thrust we could climb out of the Earth's atmosphere. Now, when we see these habitancy in space they float as if without gravity. Have we overcome the law of gravity? No. We are simply falling at the spoton rate that we keep pace with gravity, thereby creating a pocket of weightlessness. We have not overcome the law but rather used the law to a potentially higher advantage. The same laws that allow us to fly in the climate allow us to trip in space.

What would free us from the laws? Would distance? Where could we go that the laws would not apply? Would time free us from these laws? When would we find we are no longer bound by the laws? Can any enthralling person think of any suspect why we would want to get away from these laws? Although these laws are binding on us, we don't perceive them as binding. We think of them as paths to the universe.

Those who pursue these laws, though restricted by the laws of nature, are also inspired by them. These laws do not bind the human spirit: they free it. Yet laws imposed on men by men are not there as a protocol gismo to teach us how to live life more fully; they are there as operate mechanisms to designed to operate the behavior of the animal herd to the desires of the most grand animals in the herd and to what is best for the herd as a whole.

Don't confuse the laws of men with God's laws!

This is why it's so leading to bring our thoughts into submission to the belief in God and in conformation to his will. We don't operate the source of all thoughts and attempts to operate every thought every miniature of every day will make you crazy. Without bringing our thoughts into submission how can we have any leisure at all? Similar to learning to use the corporeal laws to enable flight, we must learn to use the spiritual laws to soar! As the corporeal laws free us to scrutinize space, so the knowledge and application of the spiritual laws will enable us to scrutinize God's grace.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. 2 Corinthians 10:5

Conversion is the process you go straight through while believing, even when you have doubt. Have faith that what you have asked for you will receive, what you are seeking you will find and that the door de facto will open!

Faith, believing, is an act of will. As marriage is an act of commitment.

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive anyone you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:21

Eternal life is knowing God.

Protect the seed planted in your heart

As you safe your password for your computer, bank account, internet access, and voice mail, so also originate in your heart a place apart from your normal daily life that you reserve, as a holy place to preserve, that no assault, trouble, or trial can ever defile. Therein place and keep your soul's update key.

Plant seeds of goodness on a daily basis. This, do especially when things are rough. The harvest you reap will be your own. Sow seeds of goodness and grace when you are entangled in discouragement at work. Sow seeds of blessing when you're being chewed out by your boss. Sow seeds of edification when you're in enterprise meetings. Sow seeds of blessing with strangers. Sow seeds of encouragement when you're facing danger.

"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8

On every chance deposit goodness and grace in the account of your relationships with others. In this way you'll have sufficient to weather any storm or drought. Your good seeds will find you out.

Think only in terms of success and blessing.

Change how you think

In your most inexpressive thought sanctuary (your heart) begin to convert how you think and you will change. God's promises are like seeds. It takes time for them to grow to maturity. The possible of your success is between your own ears not in the purview of your employer, friends and - or relatives. Use your possible to its maximum capacity.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

Think.

We need to consciously work on changing our emotional state when our thoughts are disturbing. It's hard to be mad when you're laughing, so laugh.

Having a seriously negative thought charge our brain is worse than any other disease. It can ruin our whole day. If we allow it to germinate it can grow to ruin our life. We must learn to be known of the thoughts we entertain.

The problems of our lives will be many. They will sometimes come too frequently to understand. Trust God. He will deliver you from all of them. No matter what 'It' is; it didn't come to stay; it came to pass. When it passes look to see how it came for good. However, even if you are unable to see the good right away, you can be sure it will work for good.

Pray every day accepting God's favor for you in all areas of your life; be persistent in prayer for all things. Honor God even in those areas where you feel definite in your own abilities.

Pre-pray.

If you are anticipating a enthralling time, event, or occurrence, pray for God's help in advance. Anticipate change. Expect a difference. Be guided by the Spirit not by your animal instinct.

All things work for good for those who love the Lord, always.

Happiness is not without; it is within. Your success is between your own ears.

Follow in the steps of Biblical examples

In vain I have searched the Bible, looking for examples of early believers whose lives were marked by rigidity, predictability, inhibition, dullness, and caution. Fortunately, grim, frowning, joyless saints in Scriptures are conspicuous by their absence. Instead, the examples I find are of adventurous, risk-taking, enthusiastic, and authentic believers whose joy was contagious even in times of full trial. Their foresight was broad even when death drew near. Rules were few and changes were welcome. The distinction between then and now is staggering.
Charles (Chuck) Swindoll
